The children at Sickles School paint, draw, sculpt and also learn about the visual arts as a discipline. The program follows the New National Visual Arts Standards (NCCAS,2014) which are based on the following artistic processes.
- Create by conceiving and developing new artistic ideas and work.
- Present by interpreting and sharing artistic work.
- Respond by understanding how the arts convey meaning
- Connect by relating artistic ideas with personal meaning and external context.
Most of all the children at Sickles have fun, so I encourage you to help your child by having them wear old clothes on days that they have art!
